Does non-tarnish mean these are the "oxidized" version of the rank as opposed to the shiny variants that were prevalent with the ASU?

The non -tarnished is the Same as the ASU. As the AGSU requires you to have ranks located in 3 different areas, this is a set of 3 verses the set of 2 required for the ASU.
