We think this is the best value on the market. Our clear lacquer finish is applied to 100% solid wood, enhancing the natural wood color and characteristics. We do not stain pressed board.

Please note, as this is a handmade item, the appearance of the wood grain will vary from the images displayed and will reflect the character of the particular wood piece. Lacquer cherry will also naturally darken over time.

Our plaques are as unique as the tree from which they are made. Distinctive markings and natural color variations will occur on these plaques. We have graded the plaques with more obvious markings as Common. These boards will exhibit more wood characteristics, such as a few small knots or small areas of sapwood. Some people may prefer this style of plaque as it has more wood character. We have graded the plaques with more consistent coloring and little to no markings as Premium. This is our highest grade wood. While each piece of hardwood is unique, there will not be any major knots, cracks, or sapwood showing on the face of the plaque. See the photo menu for Common and Premium examples. As most of our raw wood supply will fall under Premium, there is a limited supply of Common plaques. We will do our best to update their availability on the website.
